In 2021, Haizhou District and Guanyun County in Lianyungang had chosen as the construction unit of the provincial-level holistic tourism demonstration zone.
Haizhou District
With a history of over 2000 years and a wealth of humanity, it is the root of Lianyungang and the source of culture. With the characteristics of cultural tourism resources such as “a mountain, a water, a city, an island, a town, a street,” and historical celebrities, famous residences, well-known temples, etc., actively promote mountain and sea tourism, then pushed Haizhou from the “attractions tourism” model to the “holistic tourism” model.
Currently, Haizhou governs three national 4A National Tourist Attraction, including Kongwang Mountain, Taohuajian, and the Lianyungang Revolutionary Memorial Hall. It has enriched its tourism content through carefully planned “tourism + culture” products and reproduced the humanistic charm of Dongyi culture, Han culture, Intangible cultural heritage and traditional farming culture through some practices such as real interpretation.
Guanyun County
Guanyun County located in the south of the New Eurasian Land Bridge Oriental Bridgehead, Lianyungang, in the intersection of Jiangsu Coastal Economic Belt, Donglonghai Industrial Belt and Yangtze River Delta Economic Circle. It has played an important role in the distribution of productivity in northern Jiangsu, the whole province, and even the country. Guanyun County currently governs two national 4A National Tourist Attractions including the Dayi Mountain provincial-level tourist resorts and the Garden of Eden scenic area.
In recent years, the Guanyun County Party Committee and County Government have consistently adhered to the new development concept of ecological priority and green development, to accelerate the development of tourism as a key initiative to promote the transformation and upgrading and building a well-off society. Besides, relying on the unique natural resource and profound cultural and historical heritage, to establish “Beautiful mountain, water, and Eden; True feelings, true Guanyun” as the tourism brand as the theme, in order to advance the high-quality development of tourism in Guanyun.
In the next step, Haizhou District and Guanyun County will aim to create a provincial-level holistic tourism demonstration zone, expand the development of holistic tourism, enhance the modernization, intensification, and quality of tourism, create a new growth pole, and help Lianyungang holistic tourism develop with high quality.
